My last english course at College

This semester I had my last english course. In this course, we've learned about some specific topics, like health, money, social issues and accommodation, inter alia. I think this way to teach english is the most efficient, because the only way to learn any language is to talk, and that is what we most did during the semester. I would have liked that maybe the topics that we studied and that we talked about were a little more related to geography, maybe learn vocabulary about some earth process or about climate, because in some subjects during our studies of Geography we have to read a lot of papers in english, that have a lot of technical nomenclature and sometimes is difficult to understand.
Moreover, I've liked a lot that video stuff, more that the "presentation" live that we do in the second and third semester. I think is more easy, because when we talk in front of all of the class, the "nervousness" factor affects a lot in the final mark. So, with the video is the same, only that we couldn't get nervous, so, english is hear more fluid and natural.
Finally, I've also liked (I think I loved everything about this course hahaha) that the teacher were very demanding, because is more heartwarming when you get a good mark with a teacher that is rigorous and tough. Besides, although the teacher was a little grumpy, he always try to help those that didn't understand very well the
language.

Bullying

Nowadays, bullying is a sad reality in most of the world. We can define "bullying" as any kind of abuse between two or more students, either physical, psychological, emotional or verbal abuse. In bullying, there are two important characters: the victim, who usually is very shy, quiet, with a very unsecure personality and a low esteem, and the bully, who is a very aggressive boy or girl, who likes to make jokes about another's personality or his physical aspect.
Bullying consists mainly of tormenting someone intentionally. Can start with hitting, shoving and insults, and reach levels with threats and taunts, including extortion to keep the money or someone's most precious assets. But also exist another kind of bullying, that is more recent. It's the cyber bullying, and consist to reject someone, make rumors about that one, and make that rumors surf on the net (in chat rooms, for example), especially in social networks like Facebook or Twitter, wich are very easy to access.
Until now, have been identified eight kind of bullying, namely:

  • Social lock
  • Harassment
  • Handling
  • Constraints
  • Social exclusion
  • Intimidation
  • Attacks
  • Threats

And also have been identified some possible causes, related to:

  • Psychological characteristics and home environment of the bully
  • School environment
  • Television

So, can be very hard for people noticing when someone is a bullying victim, because almost all the time, victims are very very discreet, either because of shame or fear. But we, as parents, school mates, teachers or friends, can do a lot of simple things to prevent this situation, like observe the attitudes of childrens, and talk a lot with them, of course, keep them informed about the Duties and Rights of childrens, and talk about bullying, emphasize that it is wrong and that is not an obligation to occurring.

Santiago

A great city.

Santiago is the capital of Chile, and it's one of the  37 communes of the “Big Santiago”. Santiago is the centre of administrative, comercial, financial and cultural organizations of the country. It is located at the XIII región, also known as Metropolitan Region, and has a population that borders 6 millions inhabitants. Geographically, it is placed on the flat of  "Santiago basin", and his climate is affected specially because of two factors: The Andes mountain and The Coast mountain.
His history tell us that was officially founded at 1541 by Pedro Valdivia, who named it as "Santiago del Nuevo Extremo". His structure's design was commanded to Pedro Gamboa, who designed the city in a "draughtboard" way, design that is applied until these days.
Nowadays, Santiago has earned an important place in South America, and it is becoming more recognized worldwide, mainly by the level and rate of development (economically and socially) that has taken over its history. Is considered the second best city in South America to make inversions and bussiness, the third one with the best life qualities, the second one more safe, and THE ONE that tourist must visit one day.
Some places of interes to know in Santiago are:
La Piojera:
Is an old and famous bar/restaurante where you can find traditional Chilean gastronomy throughout the year, with a quite atmosphere and charming Creole.
Parque de las esculturas:
Is a meeting place with art for people. Is a park located in Providencia, which counts with a lot of scultures in his gardens, is like an outdoor museum.
La Vega Central:
Is a market where you can find fresh fruit and vegetables. It's full with charisma of people who work there, lovely and very friendly, so it's impossible to leave without buying. La Vega Central is internationally recognized as the 4th best market in the world.

Me!!

Hello!

My name is Feña Rubio and this is my first time writing in a blog.Today I'm going to write a little bit about me :)
I’m a student of Geography in the Universidad de Chile and I’m 20 years old… Well, I really have 19 years old, but I’ll soon be 20! I live in Buin, and I really love my home (because is like the country side of the city). I always dream about traveling around the world to see beautiful places and meet beautiful cultures. Unfortunately, I haven’t travel out of my country yet :c I’m always been very affectionate with my family, in special with my mother… I feel very identified with her. We look similar and we have a very similar temperament, although she is more annoying than me jajajja
One of my biggest fears is loneliness. I consider myself a very happy girl, so I like to be in company of cheerful people who make me laugh, I like to sing, dance… and when I’m alone in my home, for example, I like to turn on the radio and loud music. I’m also afraid of spiders, especially big hairy spiders… However, I’m not whining. Actually, when I have fear of something I get really nervous, but do not cry about it. I cry, yes, but only in sad moments (and sometimes in stupid moments jajjaj because I’m a little bit sentimental). One of the stupid things that makes me cry is one of the last scenes of “The lord of the rings”, when Sam says to Frodo: “I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you” jajjajja Oh my god, I love it.
Well, that’s my little biography, hope you like it and I see you soon c:

This is my family <3
